January 30th, 2009

Vincent van Gogh (1853 –1890) is arguably one of the art world’s most famous and recognizable names. His 1890 work titled “Vase with Violet Irises Against a Yellow Background” shows a large bunch of irises in shades of blue bursting out of a simple clay vase. Each iris is unique and their rich hues are set off even more strongly by the citron and ocher tones of the background. Tapestry, Bouquet of Iris by Van Gogh from Decor4u.com takes its inspiration from this spectacular painting. The addition of a blue border with an attractive yellow vine motif serves to underscore the powerful color theme of the work. The warmth and richness of this tapestry will add distinction to any room of the house.
