Who Doesn’t Want Fewer Aches And Pains
One of the problems seniors face is the loss of their flexibility. Too many seniors do not spend the time to stretch their muscles. Sure they go for long walks, play tennis and golf and ride bicycles, but after these activities, how many actually take the time to stretch? My guess is the numbers would be low. Let’s face it. Stretching isn’t that sexy. Yet if seniors start to make it part of their physical activity, they would find themselves having more energy. And less aches and pains along the way.
Stretching helps increase flexibility and gives seniors more freedom of movement. All this adds up to simply being more active regardless of ones preferred activity. Stretching helps improve ones endurance and stamina. Think how much better it would feel if one would stretch before hitting the dance floor. You may not become the reincarnation of Fred Astaire but your dance partner might imagine otherwise.
Chronic aches and pain isn’t much fun regardless of ones age. For seniors it’s especially debilitating especially if they had enjoyed and active life in their youth. Yet it’s never too late to begin fresh. Make an effort to feel good again. Start with some easy stretching everyday and watch how it makes you feel.
